Last night I researched and found a little restaurant that showed pictures of their food and it looked yummy. We went to NelScott Cafe and I had pancakes and eggs and the hubs had eggs benedict. The food was great. Our server was a woman who was probably in her sixties and she looked great. What a wonderful warm glowing smile she had. I enjoyed talking with her and hearing a little bit of her story. We got to be friends for a few minutes this morning. What a blessing. (And yes, of course, I enjoyed my time with my husband....that is a given. But after giving him so much to listen to on the way over I knew he could use the break and wouldn't mind me chatting with someone else!)
After breakfast, we went to the local Goodwill. What can I say I love to bargain shop! We will be painting our living room soon and I'm ready for a change in decor. My new decor style is "colorful and fun" and I was hoping to find some treasure that could add to this new theme.
I started my shopping in front of the store in the small book section. I noticed a woman who was probably early to mid 60's and she seemed pleasantly shopping with her husband. A bit later she ended up in the same dishes isle that I was in and then I ran into her again in the puzzles and games. I said to her, "I'm not following you." She smiled and that was it we started talking and found out that she and I lived in neighboring towns and just hit it off. After a while, Jeff found me and then left to go wait in the car. More time past and we still were enjoying our chat then her husband came looking for her. Finally, we said our goodbyes and ended up exchanging a little more friendly banter while waiting in line with our husbands to pay for our treasures. I love minute friends! These are people who you meet and get to be their friend for a few minutes of your life.
